Peer Review Process
Manuscript Screening
All manuscripts submitted to Vistar Sosiotech Journal undergo an initial screening conducted by the Editor. This screening process focuses on three main aspects: (1) the relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s focus and scope, (2) the scientific quality, originality, and contribution of the research, and (3) plagiarism and language quality. Plagiarism detection is carried out using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin, with a maximum allowable similarity index of 25%.
Manuscripts that meet the screening criteria will proceed to the peer-review stage. Submissions that do not satisfy the originality, ethical, or academic standards, or that fall outside the journal’s scope, may be rejected at this stage without entering the peer-review process. The Editor reserves the right to decline manuscripts at any point prior to peer review if they do not comply with the journal’s policies and ethical standards.
Peer Review
Vistar Sosiotech Journal applies a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area. When necessary, additional reviewers may be appointed at the Editor’s discretion to ensure a thorough and balanced evaluation.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on originality, theoretical and practical contribution, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations, the Editor makes the final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript.
Editing and Publication Process
Manuscripts accepted for publication will proceed to the copyediting stage, where language quality, grammar, formatting, and consistency are improved in accordance with the journal’s publication standards. Authors will be asked to review the copyedited manuscript and provide approval or necessary corrections.
Following copyediting, the manuscript enters the layout editing stage, during which it is formatted into the journal’s official publication layout and converted into a publication-ready PDF file. This stage ensures consistency and visual quality across all published articles.
The formatted manuscript is then sent to the proofreading stage. Authors are required to carefully review the proof version using PDF annotation tools (such as Adobe Reader or Acrobat Reader DC) and return any corrections or comments to the Editor within the specified timeframe.
After all corrections have been finalized, the manuscript will be scheduled for publication in the appropriate Volume and Issue of Vistar Sosiotech Journal. All published articles are made openly accessible through the journal’s official website.
Review Platform
The entire editorial and peer-review workflow—including manuscript submission, communication between authors, editors, and reviewers, as well as final publication—is managed through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. This system ensures transparency, accountability, and efficiency throughout the publication process and is managed by Vistar Sosiotech Journal under PT Vistar Indonesia Gemilang.
